This Steamboat Springs, Colorado development is a 6.9-acre ski-in/ski-out site located at the base area of the Steamboat Ski Resort. Cafritz purchased the site in April of 2007. The project is currently in a two-phase planning process with approvals expected in 2009 for over 650,000 square feet of sellable residential space.
The first phase of the development along the ski edge will be a luxury branded whole-ownership condominium community with 228,000 square feet of net sellable space. Construction is expected to begin when the ski season ends in 2010. The remaining 426,000 square feet will be a mix of whole ownership, fractional and hospitality product with construction expected to begin in 2011.
Steamboat is a 1.0 million ski visitor mountain and a vibrant year-round community that is well-poised for redevelopment. The Cafritz property is the largest and most visible site on the mountain and will be the central portion of the overall urban renewal and redevelopment plan for the base area of the Steamboat Ski Resort.
